Leo Drouet’s four tries guided France to an eleven-try 67-17 win over Wales at the Stade Charles-Mathon to finish their Under-20s Six Nations Championship on a high.
With Ireland having won the title earlier on in the day with victory over England sealing their Grand Slam in Cork, Les Bleuets knew they could not win it themselves and for the second year in a row would have to settle for second spot.
That did not affect Sebastien Calvet’s side though, and they raced away to a 34-3 lead at half-time.
Wales rallied early in the second half and briefly threatened to throw a real spanner into the works, but France showed their class and entertained the Oyannax crowd in the Championship finale.
