England head coach Alan Dickens has made six changes to his side ahead of the crucial clash against Ireland on Saturday.
Dickens’ side host Ireland at StoneX Stadium looking to keep their Championship hopes alive and halt Ireland’s Grand Slam bid as they attempt to build on their 43-14 victory over Wales last time out.
George Hendry comes back into the side at full-back replacing Henry Arundell in the only change to the backs, while Dickens has made five changes to his pack.
In the front row, John Stewart replaces Finn Theobald-Thomas at hooker and Tim Hoyt comes in for Will Hobson at tighthead, while there is a full change in the second row as Lewis Chessum and Tom Lockett replace Charlie Rice and Alfie Bell.
In the back row, Ewan Richards comes in at blindside flanker for Chandler Cunningham-South, who drops to the bench.
Dickens said: “The team produced some good performances against Wales in the last round, although there were areas we should have capitalised on and we’ve been working on that this week.
“The competition within the squad is evident during training and drives the standards during the week.
“Our game against Ireland last summer was certainly a physical battle and we expect much the same at the weekend. Ireland has secured three wins out three, so we know how tough a challenge it is going to be.
“The players have given their all during training and I have no doubt that they will take that onto the pitch at StoneX Stadium on Saturday night.”
